Medical Outreach Indigenous Chronic Disease Program (MOICDP) is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and administered by Rural Health West.
This program aims to increase access to multidisciplinary primary health care teams for Indigenous people to prevent, detect and manage chronic disease. Chronic disease is defined as 'a condition that has been (or is likely to be) present for six months or more'.
As part of MOICDP, Rural Health West received additional funding to support dietician services during the 2016-2017 financial year. Additional funding has enabled the establishment of new dietician services, which complement existing outreach chronic disease teams to rural and remote locations
For further information on MOICDP download the Service Delivery Standards.
The Service Delivery Standards require that all service providers funded under MOICDP demonstrate that they have undertaken appropriate cultural awareness and safety training or be willing to undertake training prior to commencing service delivery.
