Outreach Services


Outreach in the Outback programs focus on a multidisciplinary approach to health care, with visits ranging from one day to a few weeks, with varying frequencies throughout the year.

Rural Health West is the jurisdictional fundholder in Western Australia for the following Australian Government, Department of Health programs: Rural Health Outreach Fund, Medical Outreach Indigenous Chronic Disease Program, Healthy Ears - Better Hearing, Better Listening and Visiting Optometrists Scheme.

The programs provide funding for outreach initiatives aimed at supporting people living and working in regional, rural and remote locations to access a wide range of specialist and allied health care services. These services are delivered in around 110 locations across Western Australia, including some metropolitan Aboriginal Medical Services
