The Board is pleased to introduce Ms Karen Brown who was selected as the Appointed Director at the December Board meeting.  Ms Brown has a background in marketing and communications, and is currently the Principal Policy and Communications Adviser to the Leader of the Opposition. Prior to working in politics, Karen spent 16 years as a print journalist. At the West Australian newspaper she reported on a broad range of issues, edited several features sections and became the newspaper’s first female Chief of Staff, then Deputy Editor. She also served as the Western Australian Editor of The Australian newspaper and as Principal Consultant at Halden Burns.  The Board welcomes Ms Brown and looks forward to her strategic input into the future direction of Rural Health West.
