Bush Locums


Rural Health West has developed a great set of incentives (see below) for unconditionally registered doctors interested in undertaking locum assignments in rural and remote areas.

Locum assignments can be as short as one week or much longer. They may be in major regional centres or remote outback locations; in the hot north or the cooler south; on the coast or deep inland.

CONDITIONS AND SUPPORT

WA-based locums Interstate and New Zealand-based locums
Remuneration (paid by the practice)
*$3,000 pw or 50% of gross billings (whichever is the greater) + 9% superannuation.

Bonus
Note: The bonus is accruable for a maximum of 6 weeks per assignment
$1,500 after each four (4) weeks of RHW priority locum work completed within a 12 month period.

Locum travel to Western Australia
Not applicable.
Rural Health West will reimburse up to $500 per trip for the cost of the locum travelling to WA up to a maximum of $2,000 per 12 month period.
Locum travel to and from assignments for locum. (Travel costs for accompanying family members are the responsibility of the locum).
Rural Health West pays for travel to and from assignments.
Locums using their own car can claim fuel reimbursement (receipts must be provided).

Accommodation during assignments
The locum’s accommodation is provided by the practice.

Medical Board Registration
Locum pays Medical Board registration in WA.

Locum pays Medical Board registration in his/her home-State.
Rural Health West reimburses cost of Medical Board of Western Australia registration once locum has completed a minimum of four (4) weeks of Rural Health West priority locum work within a 12 month period.

Procedural medical indemnity insurance

Orientation
Not Applicable.
Rural Health West may provide up to two nights accommodation in Perth (up to $A110 GST inclusive per night) for orientation prior to assignments commencing.
