WA RMFN Spouse Training Bursary rmfn_logo

The RMFN Spouse Training Bursary has been developed in recognition of the professional and career development needs of rural and remote medical spouses. It is intended to enhance employment opportunities for individual applicants and to aid in the retention of the medical families in rural/remote settings.

Who is eligible?

Any medical doctor’s spouse or partner living in a remote or rural area of Western Australia (RRMA 4-7) is entitled to apply for a bursary, provided he or she has not received a grant before. Doctors are not eligible to apply.

‘Degree and duration of remoteness’ will be taken into account in the process of prioritising applications. Applicants are asked to explain how this training will enhance their career and/or employment opportunities. All applications are assessed by a selection panel consisting of the RMFN President and Family Support Project Officer.

When are the bursaries available?

The RMFN is hoping to offer a round of bursaries for the next financial year. Medical spouses will be notitied by mail should this occur.

Full guidelines can be located here.
