 Rural Health West is committed to supporting students interested in rural health.

Rural Health West is committed to supporting students interested in rural health.

Rural Health West coordinates the WAALHIIBE Rural Health Club, which was established in 2000 to support allied health students.

The University of Western Australia Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences coordinates two programs that promote rural general practice to secondary and undergraduate students. These are:

  • The Rural Student Recruitment program, through which visits are conducted throughout WA, targeting rural students in years 10, 11 and 12 who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine or dentistry;
  • The SPINRPHEX Rural Health Club which provides assistance to medicine, dentistry and nursing students.

Further information about the two UWA programs above can be obtained from Sue Pougnault on (08) 9346 7323.
