In this broadcast Dermatologist Dr Kurt Gebauer joins Dr Olga Ward to discuss the recognition and management of various types of skin cancer, while the treatment of melanoma including new advances are examined by Dr Michael Millward, Head of Medical Oncology, Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital.

Clinton Heal, Founder and CEO of MelanomaWA also provides information on general patient support services and Dr Gavin Matten from Bunbury Skin Cancer Clinic, informs general practitioners on how they can educate their patients on melanoma recognition. Information is also provided on the free statewide WA Melanoma Advisory Service (WAMAS).

The aim of this Rural Doctors Broadcast is to provide rural and remote general practitioners with information on:

  • Recognition and management of various types of skin cancer
  • Advances in the treatment of melanoma
  • Support and advisory services available to General Practitioners and their patients
