Mr Ian Taylor
(Chair) Grad B. Econs (Hons) UWA

Ian Taylor worked for the State Public Service, principally Treasury, until he was elected in Kalgoorlie’s By Election of 1981. Ian represented Kalgoorlie until 1996.

During this time he was Minister in a range of portfolios including Health, Police and Conservation and State Development. He was also Deputy Premier and Leader of the Opposition. Ian is currently working in the fishing industry and on a number of Boards and Committees.


Dr Malcolm Hodsdon
(Deputy Chair)

Malcolm Hodsdon graduated from UWA in 1976 and has a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Fellowship of The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and a Diploma in Obstetrics from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

He has his own General Practice in Kalgoorlie and employs two Overseas Trained Doctors. Malcolm is a Visiting Medical Practitioner at the Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital and still practices Obstetrics.

Malcolm is currently Chair of the Goldfields Esperance General Practitioner Network, Secretary of Rural Doctors Association of Western Australia and a Committee of Management member of the Rural Doctor Association of Australia. From 1983 to 1989 he was a Councillor on Town of Kalgoorlie and spent a further three years as Councillor on City of Kalgoorlie/Boulder which included one year as Deputy Mayor.


Mr John Ireland
(Company Secretary)

John Ireland is a retired Accountant and Company Director. John was a member of the Australian Society of Accountants as well as the Australian Institute of Company Secretaries.  He has extensive experience in finance and company management and is a current member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. John is currently a Board Member and Company Secretary of GP Down South and Company Secretary of  Western Australian General Practice Education and Training Ltd.


Mr Mark Grime

Mark Grime was appointed Chief Executive Officer of St John of God Hospital, Bunbury in 2000. In May 2006, he added the new role of General Manager, WA Regional Health Services, with overall responsibility for the management of the group’s regional health services, including St John of God Hospital, Geraldton and the group’s proposed Albany Day Surgery Centre, in Western Australia.

Mark was previously Chief Executive Officer/ Director of Nursing at St John of God Hospital, Warrnambool from 1993-2000.


Dr Tim Leahy

Tim Leahy is a General Practitioner with rural and Aboriginal health experience. In addition to General Practice, Tim is also employed as a Medical Policy Officer at the Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia.

Tim has been on the Boards of WACRRM and the Western Australian Heart Foundation for over two years and has been involved in a range of WACRRM activities for several years, especially those relating to Aboriginal health, from statewide consultations to continuing professional development.



Ms Dani Nazzari

As a resident of the Pilbara for over 20 years, Dani Nazzari has experienced the many facets of regional community life and in particular the unique challenges of the boom and bust mining cycle.

Dani has represented the community through Local Government and in a Corporate Relations role.


Dr Karl Staer

Karl is a GP based in Esperance, with an interest in surgery and obstetrics. He has had a long association with WACRRM/Rural Health West and GP Networks.

Karl is passionate about unity and equity, and brings significant board experience and corporate memory to Rural Health West.
