General Practitioner

This practice is seeking a GP who is VR and may also interested or accredited in teaching and training medical students and Registrars. Ideally looking for someone full time but will consider part time (no less than 20 hours per week). Practice is open - Monday & Wednesday 7.30am-7.00pm, Tuesday 8.30am-7pm, Thursday 8.30am-5.00pm, Friday 7.30am-5.00pm and Sat 9.00am-1.00pm. This is a mixed billing family friendly medical practice based in beautiful Broome W.A. They provide a supportive, collaborative and respectful working environment. The Practice Private, group practice. We are a mixed billing family medical practice in Broome. Our staff are passionate about living and working in the Kimberley region. Our Broome medical professionals strive to provide a wide range of quality health care services to their patients and the local Broome community including the following: Sick Kids Clinic, Women's & Men's Health, Aboriginal Health, Aviation Medicals, ECG, Audiometry & Spirometry, Mental Health, and Chronic Disease Medicine.

  • On call: On call not required.
The Package
  • Renumeration: Percentage of billings - to be negotiated.
  • Accommodation: They offer a percentage of billings and will consider a FIFO arrangement for the right candidate with a car and accommodation provided.
  • Leave: If employed as an independent contract, they ask for at least 8 weeks notice of any upcoming leave.
  • Agreement: Independent contractor agreement.

The Kimberley is located in the north-west region of Western Australia. It covers an area of 421,451 square kilometres, an area three times the size of England, but is home to only 35,748 people. A relatively high proportion of the residents are Aboriginal Australians. The population swells seasonally with an influx of tourists and a mobile working population.

The major towns of the Kimberley include Broome and Derby on the west coast, with Kununurra and Wyndham in the east. There are approximately 70 general practitioners including GP registrars in the region, nine in private practice, 33 in Aboriginal Medical Services, two in the Royal Flying Doctor Service and 26 hospital based general practitioners.
