Full time general practitioner required for this friendly, hard-working practice in the beautiful coastal town of Kalbarri. Enjoy practising a variety of medicine that will never leave you bored. There is a practice nurse available every day. On call at the local hospital 2-3 days a week. Accommodation available: central house close to surgery, hospital, school, shops and beach. 4 x bedroom, 2 x bathroom plus a separate granny flat. This inviting community will suit practitioners who are interested in an outdoors lifestyle, with hobbies such as fishing, camping, surfing and more.

The Requirements

  • Other Skills: WACHS ED credentialing required.
  • On call: 2-3 days a week
The Package
  • Renumeration: Minimum income of $270,000 (this does not include the on call income), 65% gross billing for surgery and hospital, $200 weekdays $300 weekends/ public holidays. Plus superannuation.
  • Accommodation: Accommodation available: central house close to surgery, hospital, school, shops and beach. 4 x bedroom, 2 x bathroom with a separate granny flat with bathroom out the back.
  • Leave: 4 weeks holiday leave, 2 weeks sick, 2 weeks study leave.
  • Agreement: Independent contractor agreement.

Midwest

Covering an area of some 470,000 square kilometres, the Midwest region extends from the outback to the ocean. The economic base for the region centres on mining, agriculture, fishing and tourism. Attractions include internationally recognised windsurfing beaches, wildflowers and a rich maritime history of mutiny and shipwrecks.

The region has a population of more than 50,000 people. More than half is based in the City of Geraldton, the region’s commercial, administrative and service centre, around four hours drive north of Perth.

The coastal part of the region enjoys a Mediterranean climate, while the inland experiences warm, dry summers and cool winters.

There are approximately 80 doctors in the region, including private general practitioners, specialists and doctors employed by the hospital and the Aboriginal Medical Service.
