Emergency Airway Skills and Crisis Simulation Management (EAM)

Develop and practise skills essential for good outcomes in an unexpected crisis, particularly with problem airways. Delivered in WA Country Health Service facilities, this workshop has a heavy emphasis on teamwork and organisation of medical emergency teams incorporating presentations, skill stations and scenario-based crises with simulation manikins (SIM man & baby).

Eligibility: GP Anaesthetists and Theatre Staff. Priority is given to those working in local region. Should places be available, emergency departments doctors and nurses are invited to register.

Ultrasound Guided Regional Anaesthesia, Acute Pain and Vascular Access

Introduced in mid-2013 this exciting new workshop provides regional medical practitioners and GP Anaesthetists with the opportunity to learn and understand basics of ultrasound and its application in conducting regional anaesthesia and vascular access. This workshop includes review of regional anaesthesia techniques and various techniques of managing acute pain in a rural health setting with a goal to improve functionality with minimal or no opioid use.

Eligibility: GP Anaesthetists, ED Doctors and medical practitioners. Priority is given to those working in local region.

Workshops Cancellation/Refund Policy

Cancellations received four weeks prior to the workshop will receive a full refund of workshop fee. Cancellations received fourteen (14) days prior will receive a 50 per cent refund. Refunds for cancellations received with less than fourteen (14) days notice will be considered on an individual case basis. All cancellation notifications in relation to workshop places should be made in writing to the Continuing Professional Development Coordinator.
