Rural Health West, in partnership with The Benchmarque Group is pleased to invite doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to the Audiometry Screening and Assessment Program.
The program is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required for clinicians to safely assess and screen the aural health of individuals and groups.
At the successful completion of this program the clinician should:
A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the auditory system
The skills to identify a range of conditions of the auditory system
Be able to perform an ear health examination
The ability to apply a broad knowledge of management strategies, client centred education and related physical functions to health promotion and provision of basic care and advice in relation to audiometry screening
The ability to ensure information, including required forms and accessible and available
Perform Otoscopy, tympanometry and audiometry
Identify contra indications to proceed with hearing assessment, outline and follow up required and make appropriate specialist referrals as needed
Document the findings, procedure and outcome in the patient’s history.
Eligibility: all health professionals
Length: 3 days. 8.30am - 5.00pm
Cost: This course is FREE but registration is essential.
Accreditation: The program is endorsed by RACGP, ACRRM, APNA and Hearing Aid and Audiometry Society of Australia.
