Annual Conference 2018

Event Details

2018-AC-icon

The livelihood of many rural communities is driven by the boom or bust cycle of primary industry, which places rural populations at greater risk of poor mental health. Dedicated mental health services in rural locations are often sparse or pushed to capacity which can limit the ability for primary health practitioners to help patients access the care they need.

Breaking down the barriers in the bush – mental healthcare for our rural communities is an opportunity for rural medical and health practitioners to hear from mental health leaders and advocates about the latest services and treatments, share their personal insights, and enhance their skills and abilities to successfully care for patients with mental health issues.
