Take care of your mental health and wellbeing.
Rural Health West has developed a resource to assist general practitioners and their families living in rural and remote areas of Western Australia.
The 2015 Finding My Place project reported that doctors working in rural Western Australia can be burdened with a heavy workload and concerns about whether their family have access to social, cultural and educational opportunities. This can sometimes lead to high stress levels and eventual burnout, in turn impacting the local community.
Health and Wellbeing, an information resource for health professionals and their families living in rural communities of Western Australia, provides access to personal, clinical and professional support services including counselling, guidance and conflict resolution. You can view the resource online or request a printed copy from the Family Support Program Officer.
